Appointment of Carmine Abagnale as Manager
Of the Volunteering and Civil Protection Group ANPS Milan

Carmine Abagnale new head of the Volunteering and Civil Protection Group of the ANPS of Milan.
Carmine Abagnale is the new head of the Volunteering and Civil Protection Group of the National Association of the State Police of Milan.
Former policeman, municipal councilor and councilor at the Municipality 4 of Milan, Carmine Abagnale, current president of the Milanese section of the ANPS, from today also holds the role of head of the Volunteering and Civil Protection Group of the association.
«For over forty years I have served the State as a policeman, holding various positions, including the one at the investigative section of Digos in Milan. Subsequently I made myself available to politics, playing the role of city councilor and councilor at City Hall 4 in Milan. I have always helped the weakest and, once I reached the retirement age limit, I didn't feel like abandoning the commitment to others. I therefore chose to continue serving the community through the National Association of the State Police, of which I have been president of the Milanese section for over 15 years and which has over 4,000 members».
The association, for its social activity, was awarded in 2017 by the Municipality of Milan of the Ambrogino d'Oro.
«Today the board of the Volunteering and Civil Protection Group of the ANPS has unanimously given me the task of directing this very important nucleus. Nationally, the group has over 4,000 volunteers, while in Milan there are about a hundred. Our volunteers carry out support activities for local security authorities in the Milanese territory, contributing to education in legality. They are engaged in city parks and in the areas adjacent to the Central Station, assisting citizens in difficulty and collaborating with the Local Police in the reclamation of the areas».
During the activities, thousands of flyers were distributed in the city parks to raise awareness of respect for the environment and provide useful indications for the prevention of predatory crimes.
Currently the association is also engaged, in collaboration with the Civil Protection, in activities related to the success of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
«I am honored to represent this volunteer group and, as always, I make available my experience and my will to give the maximum contribution to the city of Milan, which adopted me and gave me so much satisfaction. Milan is my second city: here I have realized the dreams of my life and I will always be grateful to you».
